Lido/One Design Racing
Fleet 78 was started in 1997 by a group of charter members who saw the need to bring a one design boat to our great racing venue, Fidalgo Bay. The Lido 14 was chosen due to it's affordability, longevity, and appeal to a wide skill range of sailboat racers. The Lido 14 is currently still the only one design boat actively raced in Anacortes. Nationaly, the fleet is primarly on the West Coast with nearby fleets in Seattle, Portland, and Eugene. 2007 marked the 50th Anniversary of the Lido 14 National Championships (an almost unheard of accomplishment in the world of sailing). The event was hosted by the Newport Beach Yacht Club in California as was attended by over 50 Lido 14's!!!! This years 2008 Class Championship Regatta will be held in Eugene Oregon at Fern Ridge Resevior, a top notch one design venue.
