Shakedown Cruise

LaConner, WA at “F” Dock
The time is coming for us to wash the winter grime off of the boats and do that short cruise to make sure all is well for the coming season. You know we will have forgotten some important and those not so important items. What a better time to figure out what they are and either make the list for getting them to the boat or go into town and getting the missing items.
This year we are going to LaConner. The Port of Skagit has plenty of space on”F” and if you are lucky you may find space at the Swinomish Yacht Club recip dock. LaConner should be getting ready for the Tulip Festival which starts on April 1st. We can get there ahead of the crowds but still have shops excited to see us coming.
Some activities that you can enjoy while there are:
- LaConner Quilt and Textile Museum, 703 S 2nd, 360 466 4288.
- Skagit County Historical Museum, 501 S 4th, 360 466 3365.
- Museum of Northwest Art, 121 s 1st, 360 466 4446’
- Lots of shops.
We have not made any reservations for dinners but thought we could do that after we arrive and see where we want to go. Too many to choose from but all within a short walk of the docks.
Some folks will be arriving Friday and others on Saturday. Most activities are on your own but we will have BYOB drinks and snack foods (bring your favorite to share). The dock party will start about 5:00Pm on Friday and Saturday.
