So last Saturday was the official opening day boating in Anacortes. There were speeches, thank you, Past Commodore John Wilkinson. The AYC banner was prominently displayed, again, thank you John.
Then there was the boat parade. Or perhaps more accurately, a somewhat semi-organized exercise uncontrolled chaos coupled with several moments of sheer terror. Putting eight or nine boats (the majority from AYC) ranging in size from dinghies to 40 plus foot trawlers all at once in the Cap Sante fairways makes for some interesting heart rates.
Next year, maybe a totally organized AYC decorated small boat parade. More boats, less stress???
