Anacortes Waterfront Festival
About this event
The annual Anacortes Waterfront Festival showcases why visitors come to our town to enjoy the Northwest’s premier boating venue. A plethora of events during the festival includes free boat rides offered by AYC, the infamous Quick and Dirty Boat Building Contest where teams build boats all day and then test their floatability and race prowess down one of Cap Sante Marina’s fairways (Waterfront Festival / Experience Anacortes), children building wooden boats, and various displays presented by local organizations. Plenty of festival food and drink is available in the parking lot north of the Harbormaster’s office.
Since the mid 90’s the Anacortes Yacht Club has offered free boat rides to the community during the Waterfront Festival held the first weekend in June. Typically, each year we host over 600 passengers on AYC members’ boats. About 65 AYC members volunteer for this philanthropy with about 15 -18 skippers and boats participating.
